First run
The first time you start SiteMapper, the URL: box is blank.
You are now ready to specify the URL to analyze, or Browse
for a local file. Enter a URL and press RETURN, or click on
the Go! button. This will download the page from the Internet
into a local cache, and then analyze the page and display
the result:
The element categories are presented in the list:
Pages, Links, Emails, Folders, Downloadable Files, Media, Scripts and Invalid.
To expand a list, click on the "+" sign next to the category.
For example, if you click on the Emails category, the list is expanded
to show all email addresses that were referenced on the page:
To send an email to one of the email addresses listed, double-click on the email. Double-clicking on an element such as an email address or a web-page will "open" the element.
To get more information about the element, right-click on the item and click on the Properties menu. If more information is available, the Properties window is shown:
In addition to standard information such as the text used to describe the link and the URL (Internet address), SiteMapper also shows status and validity information, and a list of all pages that referred to (used) the element.
